This past Monday we had the pleasure of hosting another Creative Class!

Sue Gepfer with StreetSide Treasures also is our local Dixie Belle retailer here at Trellis Marketplace! Sue has a variety of talents that compliment the vast Dixie Belle Mineral Chalk Paint line. We were thrilled for the chance to play around with TRANSFERS! Transfers are part of the Belles and Whistles collection. You can do a number of amazing projects with these essentially really large stickers.

Specially designed luminary boards

Repurposing material and adding beautiful detailing is celebrated here in our art lot at Trellis Marketplace! Sue is our experienced Dixie Belle instructor.

The project Sue prepared for us was a luminary board hanging. She worked with her local woodworker to design the provided project piece from reclaimed wood. Once 5:30PM hit, we were ready to go! Our students were super excitable! They reserved this class for their one friend’s birthday celebration. It was so sweet how they enjoyed in each other’s creativity for this b-day celebration. As we shift back into creative events and social gatherings, we find ease in an in-depth process with those we feel happiest with!! Between our instructors, and shop hostess, we at Trellis Marketplace strive to always be a doorway to creativity.

Creative classes are an excellent way to work together to develop new skills and have fun! We aim to have monthly activities for all walks of life! Since I started working from home to help manage online sales for Trellis, I’ve grown very accustomed to having certain items on my desk at all times. This post is exactly what it sounds like- a photo/list series of the stuff that’s on my desk!

The Necessities

The basic things I rely on.

Full Apple keyboard- I enjoy low profile keys. (Do you like my SPACE-bar sticker??)
Apple trackpad
Over-ear B&O headphones- amazing sound quality, over-ear design helps not bother my spouse who shares this office. Bandana wrapped around the top because I have a tiny head and it helps keep the ear cups at the right spot.

The things I could definitely live without, but I really like having.

Logitech Bluetooth keyboard, because typing on an iPad screen sucks. (note additional Space-bar sticker)
iPad stand that matches my iMac- great for non-office FaceTime meetings.
iPad Pro
Pentax K-50 camera, which I mostly use for night sky photography.

The Fun Stuff

I really don’t need this stuff, but a lot of it is helpful and the rest of it is fun.

Ugmonk Gather desk organizer, because I want things to look good.
Little wooden handmade bowl, a gift from my sister.
Sticky notes the go in the right side of the organizer.
Moonstone pen, cute pen, mechanical pencil.
Apple Pencil- super useful for designing and Shellbird Studio drafting.
Apple attachments, and a little capsule of rosin for my bird call keychain.
Le Thiers knife with birch handle, carbon steel blade, and corkscrew, from Le Sabot.
Bobby pin, because they’re everywhere in my house.

The Notebooks

Old habits die hard; I still really like writing on paper.

Rhodia notebooks: one unlined, one lined, and one graph paper.
A natural, refillable leather notebook from Rustico- I really like the natural leather because it gives you the opportunity to really get that patina going.
